Audio Analogue Crescendo AmplifierAudio Analogue Crescendo was conceived as advanced model with high technical characteristics, but for an affordable price. The front panel is symmetrical - the central place is occupied by the volume control knob (which also selects the input), on both sides of which there is the LED indication of the current modes. With an eye to construction, the amplifier looks very impressive - a massive metal chassis, a power toroidal transformer and high-current transistors in the end cascades. The output power is declared at 50 watts per channel (at 8 ohms load) with sufficiently low distortions - only 0.05%. For operation with external sound sources there are five linear inputs, one of which can be switched to Bypass mode, while the amplifier turns into a power amplifier. The Italian amplifier has a fairly comfortable sound with slightly softened edges of the range. For example, the upper spectrum in its interpretation can be called extremely intelligent, because sharp edges are deliberately smoothed. The low-frequency register is rather convincing and differs with impressive energy, but the fastest bass passages are sometimes played with a slightly lowered tempo. The midrange spectrum is really beautiful. The voices of vocalists are a little shaded with a special noble coloring, but at the same time they are full of life. The amplifier is not shocked by the compulsive dynamics (the character of Crescendo is rather soft), nevertheless the available energy is enough for an adequate reproduction of the symphonic classics. We should praise separately the Crescendo's ability to create an accurate and large-scale sound stage. The space is densely filled with imaginary images and extends far into the interior, and the sources themselves do not practically tie to loudspeakers. ![]() |
