Kenwood LS-130F Bookshelf speakers

Kenwood LS-130F is a bass-reflex (port on the rear panel) two-way speaker system with dimensions of 210x394x250 mm. The diameter of the cone woofer is 160 mm, the dome tweeter is 20 mm. The appearance of the loudspeaker does not cause any vivid impressions, but the restraint in the design in this case is more a consequence of a well-thought-out aesthetic concept than the desire to reduce the cost of products by reducing the position of the designer. Rated power for a shelf system is decent - 100 watts. But the sensitivity of the Kenwood LS-130F is relatively low - only 85.5 dB. Significant is the fact that almost all the objective parameters measured by us are in perfect agreement with the data given in the technical description of the system. This fact convincingly testifies to the high stability of the characteristics of different types of columns and, thus, to their high manufacturability and reliability. The lower region of the measured frequency response can serve as a good example of a successful solution to the problem of interaction between a passive resonator and an active radiator. The average unevenness of the response from 100 Hz to 20 kHz is ± 2.5 dB, which is not bad at all if it were not for local disorders. A low-frequency large-scale resonant hill will not drastically destroy, but noticeably tones the bass. Noteworthy are narrow-band (about a quarter of an octave) peaks at frequencies of 460 Hz and 800 Hz, similar to half-wave column resonances. They suggest insufficient attenuation of the internal volume, and if at moderate levels this leads to only a slight coloration of the sound, then at high powers distortions that are noticeable to the ear can appear. But one should not be afraid of the reservations made, the system, undoubtedly, belongs to the high-class, as convincingly evidenced, for example, by the upper part of the range. Here everything is clean without any "buts". The Kenwood LS-130F speakers provide good field uniformity, and you don't have to worry about the stereo effect. The characteristic of the input impedance module indicates a low tuning frequency of the phase inverter - about 40 Hz. Nominal impedance 5 ohms, filter crossover frequency 2.5 kHz.
