JBL TLX 50 Bookshelf speakers

JBL TLX 50 is a three-way speaker system of bass reflex type; bass reflex port is situated at the back panel of the speaker. The body sizes are one of the hugest (270x280x480 mm - 10.6"x11"x18.9"). This structural feature is properly explicable, because you will find three speakers on the faceplate: high-frequency with soft dome of 2.5 cm (1") in diameter, middle-frequency with 8.8 cm (3.5") and woofer with 18.5 cm (7.2"). We note slightly old-fashioned spring clamps for connecting the speakers, which are handy for using comparatively light section cables. You will have to use the adapter for serious audiophile cables. Measured frequency characteristic doesn't raise any doubts on high quality of the system: the range of frequency is about 40 Hz - 22 kHz; the variation oscillates near +/-3 dB in full acoustic range. However, there is a visible smooth decay of the characteristic from 12 - 14 kHz to 7-8 dB, which changes into flat "shelf", reaching 20 kHz boarder at this level. High meaning of the sensitivity, about 90 dB, is noteworthy, because it is not typical for three-way speaker system. The speakers provide a normal area of stereo effect well. The characteristic of input impedance module gives the frequencies of 800 Hz and 4 kHz, the bass reflex frequency of 35 Hz. Nominal input impedance is 6 ohm, minimal is 3.5 ohm. Such characteristics are the application for possibility to compete with not only two-line speakers of shelf type...
