Technics SL-PG580A CD-player

The first thing that attracted our attention was very rational, we can say, beautiful construction (inside the device), minimum of board-to-board connections. The second, already external thing is, maybe said, a classical layout of the faceplate close to cassette decks. Separation into two half-planes by horizontal line, in our opinion, a bit weights it, as if increases the sizes of already large-sized device. The display is not bright, but distinctive, with easily readable elements of nice bluish color. Operational buttons are grouped on the right under the display, non-operational, including those which are connected with the procedure of overwriting to tape recorder, are in a separate group on the left from disc loader. The buttons of track search and fragment search are combined on the device: track search is made with single clicks on a corresponding button, fragment search is made by holding the same button. At the same, the speed of search does not change from time of holding a corresponding button. These buttons are separated on the remote control. You can adjust an output level in the range from 0 dB to -12 dB from the remote control with the step of 2 dB. Unfortunately, this player doesn't have headphones output. We want to especially note very silent, almost noiseless mechanism of load/unload of disc. In addition, when power is turned off, the device goes to standby mode and will close disc loader itself, if it is open. Technics SL-PG580A player sounds balanced, we can say quite decently, although without any striking features.
