Technics SH-GE90 EqualizerA very complex device which includes an equalizer as just one of the parts of the total: there are also an echo mode reverberator, a mixer for mixing the signals from two microphones in karaoke mode and a Digital Sound Processor (DSP), which provides a simulation of acoustic properties of six different rooms. We are primarily interested in the equalizer, which provides adjusting in each of the 24 bands, the central frequencies of which, of course, comply with the ISO standards. When setting up level for any particular frequency for the respective filter one can select the bandwidth determining the slope of each filter (in this device inclusion is denoted as Q - factor). Among the proposed six fixed AFCs four are determined by the nature of music and two are auxiliary, provided to help you record correctly, taking the playback conditions into account. The HP ST mode, for example, optimizes the record that then you will listen to their player through headphones, and the CAR mode is intended for homemade tape records made for playing in a car. In addition, one can write five special characteristics which you have set up in the memory. Incidentally, the memory can store them up to one month if the equalizer is in a standby mode. Adjustments for the delay time in the DSP modes vary within very wide limits, but for each of the six types of room presets are provided: for the "cathedral" adjustments from 3.5 to 5.5 are possible, and for the "theater" it's just 10 to 30 ms. |
