Harman/Kardon AVR 5550 AV-receiverThe switching capabilities of Harman/Kardon AVR 5550 receiver outclass the competition. On the front panel there is an AV port with a digital coaxial connector, which is able to work for both signal reception and transmission (it is easy to organize a rewrite on any device). When configuring, you can specify whether the specified parameter will be constant for all inputs or individual for each signal. This allows you, for example, to enter a separate cutoff frequency for each loudspeaker. AVR 5550 is equipped with HDCD and MP3 stream decoders, an RS-232 port (for full control of the AV system from the computer) and an A-Bus for communicating with the Multiroom control modules. The design is well thought out: the audio and video parts are maximally apart from each other and separated from the powerful transformer by a massive heat sink of the output cascades. The amplifiers of the rear channels can be switched to sound the second zone, while in the first zone it is possible to listen to 5.1-sound. Harman/Kardon AVR 5550 is equipped with two remote controls. The first is a full-featured trainee, with backlight; it is used mainly for installation. The built-in sound level meter simplifies the adjustment of the volume through the channels. The second remote control is compact, it controls only the basic functions. The receiver is ready to support the idea of a branched Multiroom home entertainment system and will prove its best when playing multi-channel soundtracks. |
