Dynaudio Sub 500 Subwoofer

Danish subwoofer Sub 500 has a compact body with a closed design, an artful amplifier with an innovative Cone Excursion Control diffuser stroke monitoring system and a "layered" front panel: a 30 cm driver with a cast aluminum basket is mounted on a metal plate that is firmly connected to the body through a damping gasket. The lack of separate inputs for signals from the left and right channels does not please very much. Only linear and balanced inputs/outputs for LFE are available.

One of the big advantages of Dynaudio Sub 500 is the presence of a remote control that allows you to accurately select the optimal settings without getting up from the chair. That is, in the plural, since it is possible to save in the sub's memory not one setting, but four, in order to then choose the most suitable one for each reproduced program. At the same time I will mention one more facility: if you switch the selector to Protect position on the rear panel, all the regulatory functions are disabled and now no one accidentally disrupt your settings.

As I expected, the closed design of Dynaudio Sub 500 gives another plus - there are no even hints of extraneous overtones. The bass is clean, but subjectively still not linear enough - there is heaviness in drums, and this is the first sign of the frequency response raised in the 35-40 Hz range. The dynamic qualities of a Danish subwoofer are so high that it knocks out any opponent. For its size, it is a very "charged" bass machine.
