KEF Kube-1 Subwoofer

You can buy a small active KEF Kube-1 sub separately and as well as a part of several design sets of speaker systems, for work of which it is designed. The sub has an acoustic design with passive emitter, allowing you to get deeper bass with minimal sizes of the body. For this the developers used an active head with 8-inch diffuser and the radiator of the same size, located on the opposite side edge of the body. The built-in digital amplifier has a nominal power of 200 W. Functional equipment is quite modest - if all necessary controls ar presented in full, there is only one linear input.

KEF Kube-1 sub sounds best at moderate volume, so do not drive it out to maximal volume. At optimal level bass will be not killing by pressure, but quite accurate and fast. Low frequencies are quite clear by timbres, but sometimes you can complain about not very deep penetration into infra-low area and certain limitations of macro-dynamics. Probably, the sub will feel better in the company of small shelf monitor speakers. This is confirmed by the positioning of the model too, originally designed for branded sets of miniature speaker systems.
