Boston Acoustics VR-M50 Bookshelf speakers

The American company refers speaker system with VR-M index to the Reference category. The appearance of Boston Acoustics VR-M50 is intriguing: their height is only two centimeters higher than depth; drivers are located very compactly on the faceplate. On the top there is a glossy panel, looking very similar to tinted glass. Other surfaces are covered with natural veneer (cherry or black ash). High-frequency radiation is corrected by the branded parabolic AMD (Amplitude Modification Device) nozzle, being mounted in the front of dome membrane of the tweeter and performing the function of divergence lens. Excessive heat is removed from the tweeter's magnetic system by aluminum layer-radiator. At the bottom of the body there are holes with threads for mounting to branded racks.

Boston Acoustics VR-M50 play strictly, pleasing by good dynamics, which is rarely met in such compact systems. Sometimes, confidently turning low-frequency content to the front, the pair makes you believe that here is a small, but very skillful floor speaker system. Just listen to this powerful, "mellow" double-bass combined with clearly audible echo of membrane of bass drum. Various musical material is spectacularly transferred, especially at comfortable volume level. A slight emphasize of high-frequency elements of an image can be referred to tonal features of the system's sound picture. But only when you increase the volume, "metallic" notes may appear in the voices of some instruments (violins, for example). A bit schematic presentation of fine details does not spoil a positive impression. We liked jazz compositions in the performance of VR-M50.
