Dynaudio MC15 Bookshelf speakers

A few years ago, the line of the Danish company Dynaudio was enriched with a completely new product - high-end multimedia monitors. Although MC15 are positioned as home, in fact, they are clones of studio monitors BM5. Of course, there are differences: the multimedia version has a more "homemade" finish, equipped with dust-proof grills and metal stands. And one more design feature - MC15 can only be connected via an unbalanced line. The rest is identical, i.e. traditional for Dynaudio 150-mm mid-woofer design: a voice coil enlarged to 75 mm with an internal magnetic system and a polymer diffuser made of silicon with MSP (Magnesium-Silicate Polymer), as well as the famous 28-mm Esotec tweeter with a silk impregnated dome. Built-in amplifiers (separately for each band) have the same power of 50 watts. Acoustic design is the slotted bass-reflex. A narrow, low-Q port is located at the top of the back panel.

Dynaudio MC15 sound openly, relaxed, figuratively, and this immediately attracts you. The system has a very good micro-dynamic resolution throughout the entire band, but at the same time amazing detailing is achieved not due to excessive contrast and sharpness of the sound, but due to the determinability of each sound in a soundtrack. Comfortable playback can already be attributed to the number of important advantages of these systems.

The bass is clean, very detailed and at the same time calm - it is not as deep and energetic as that of competitors with comparable purposes and class, but it is more linear in the field of medium and high bass. When placing near wall, they do not lose in intelligibility - the bass becomes denser. Perfect bass can be obtained from MC15 when using a sub - I think, to align them will be easy. The middle is transmitted not entirely neutral, with a slight decline to the upper middle, but the sound seems a little warmer and more alive. Absolute dynamic qualities are also commendable. Even at high volume MC15 is hard to bring to overload. The upper part of the range is devoid of aggression and is transmitted in the best traditions of the brand - without a smoke, veil, but with a powerful effect of presence. But the scene impresses most of all. When you install speakers on the rack, it will be large-scale and volume.

Another feature is that Dynaudio MC15 is very particular about the source - connecting to a mediocre player or a sound card of standard quality will not give a good result. The sound will become coarse, you will hear all the dirt of the digital path.
