Mordaunt-Short Mezzo 1 Bookshelf speakers

Mordaunt-Short Mezzo 1 is a two-way shelf speaker system, made in the acoustic design of bass reflex type. The port of bass reflex is placed on the back wall. Tweeter with an aluminum dome is placed in the special damping volume, mechanically untied from the body's walls. In addition, several small air ducts, erected outside (ATT technology), allows the tweeter to "breathe", improving the transparency of its sound. As the safety mesh bypasses the tweeter, its dome is protected by a metallic mesh. MF/LF driver is equipped with aluminum diffuser with continuous profile (CPC). Also a special sound-absorbing basket with a damping layer of elastomer is used in its construction. High-quality polypropylene capacitors, included into the circuit in parallel (DVP), are used in crossover. This additionally improves the characteristics of the filter. The crossover itself is mounted separately from the body in order to minimize the influence of vibration. Two pairs of stylish terminals are on the back panel.

Mordaunt-Short Mezzo 1 greatly creates (probably, largely to the branded HF design) refined sound landscapes, which are full of air and fine acoustic fluids. I remember that this effect was fantastically transferred by the flagship systems - Mordaunt-Short Performance. Speaker pair plays flexibly, in many details and subtly responds to small dynamical, coloristic, spacious modulations of music fabric. Rare loudspeakers caused such immediate sympathy.
